GREEN ENERGY IS JUST A CLICK AWAY!

Georgia Power’s Green Energy program makes it easy for customers to purchase clean, reliable energy from renewable resources. Renewable energy helps conserve natural resources and boost our economy. Through our voluntary Green Energy program, residential and business customers are able to help support our commitment to a cleaner, greener future by purchasing some or all of their electricity from our renewable energy portfolio.

Residential Customers

Residential customers have two, easy options for purchasing renewable energy in 100 kWh blocks for a 12-month period:

Standard Green Energy Option – adds $3.50 (plus tax) a month per 100 kWh block to your power bill for renewable energy generated entirely from biomass resources.

Premium Green Energy Option – adds $5.00 (plus tax) a month per 100 kWh block to your power bill for renewable energy that contains a mix of at least 50 percent solar energy.

Business Customers

In addition to the Standard and Premium options listed above, non-residential customers can also choose from Georgia Power’s Large-Volume or Special-Event purchase options:

Large-Volume Purchase Option – the minimum monthly purchase to qualify for the lower, customer-specific pricing of the Large-Volume Purchase Option is 900 blocks of Standard or Premium product. Georgia Power will contract with each individual customer to determine price, quantity, term, and renewable energy source.

Special-Event Purchase Option – allows for a one-time purchase of Green Energy for events such as concerts, sporting events, conventions, meetings, etc.
